Freight traffic volume passing via Port of Yuzhny (Ukraine) surged by 53.4% in August compared with the same period last year, to 1.638 million tons, the company press release said.
The volume of iron ore concentrate, urea, coal and pellets handled at
the port heavily contributed to the Yuzhny Port’s monthly results. In
the reporting period the port handled 50 ships and 15,704 gondolas.
According to Alexander Lagosha, acting Harbormaster, Yuzhny Port expects
in the coming months stable freight flows, largely outbound coal and
ore cargoes.
State-run Commercial Sea Port Yuznhy, the deep ice-free, year-round
navigable port, is located on the north-west coast of the Black Sea. The
port specializes in transshipment of general, bulk and chemical
cargoes.
