Cargo turnover of Novorossiysk Nodal Forwarding Company (NUTEP) in January-August 2010 amounted to 83,126 TEUs (+22,3% vs the same period in 2009), the National Container Company (the terminal owner) press release said. In August container
volume through the NUTEP’s terminal fell 26.5% versus Aug., 2009, to 8,347 TEUs.
The eight-month volume of exported containers via NUTEP totaled 4,313
TEUs, imported – 4,034 TEUs. Ratio of laden and empty containers in the
reporting period was 64%, 36%, respectively.
Overall, in July the terminal handled 12 vessels. Average turnover per vessel amounted to 696 TEUs.
National Container Company (NCC) is the largest and leading container
operator in Russia. The owners of the NCC in equal shares are the First
Quantum Group and the FESCO Transport Group. In 2009, container volume
passing through NCC’s terminals amounted to some 1.2 million TEUs,
contributing 42.1% to total container turnover at Russian ports.
