pakistan_tr.jpgThe state-run Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) issued a tender to import 175,000 tons of white sugar from worldwide sources, its second sugar tender in a week, a statement said. The TCP pre-qualified sugar suppliers who can supply sugar from worldwide sources may submit their bids ... by August 7, it said, adding that bids would be opened on the same day. The TCP last week issued a tender to buy 200,000 tons of white sugar, whose bid deadline is July 31.
Pakistan has made a series of large purchases in the international market this year following estimates its 2009/10 crop would produce a little over three million tons of white sugar against the annual demand of 4.2 million tons. In its previous sugar tender on May 31, Pakistan bought 100,000 tons of white sugar from China Yunnan Coal Chemical Industry Group.
