coal_444.jpgIt is reported that Xinjiang coal production in 2010 tries to reach 100 million tonnes. In 2009, less than 10 million tonnes of Xinjiang coal was delivered outside the area due to insufficient transportation capacity. The delivery will top 10 million tonnes.
Xinjiang is building the second double-track of Lanzhou-Urumqi Railway. When the line is open to traffic, the old line will be dedicated to cargo. As a result, more coal in the northwestern area will be carried outward.
Xinjiang has been making progress in coal exploration and mining. Its coal capacity begins to lift. In the context of ensuring local use, Xinjiang will try to rail more coal to other domestic areas.
According to Xinjang planning, coal for west-to-east coal transportation campaign will reach 50 million tonnes by 2012, 100 million tonnes by 2015, 500 million tonnes by 2020 and over 800 million tonnes by 2025.
