container_ports_67.jpgUnion Shipping secretary K Mohandas reviewed the progress of the construction work of the Vallarpadom International Container Transshipment Terminal (ICTT), and its connectivity projects on Friday. He took part in a meeting which was attended by various agencies which are implementing component projects such as rail and road connectivity, and dredging of the navigational channel. Mohandas expressed satisfaction over the progress of the final phase of the work, which is expected to be completed in June.
Earlier, the Shipping Secretary visited the transshipment terminal site at Vallarpadom, and the construction sites of the National Highway Connectivity (NH-47C) from Kalamassery to Vallarpadom.
Cochin Port Trust chairman N Ramachandran, National Highways Authority of India project director C T Abraham, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited joint general manager Kesavachandran, DP World India head Captain Anil Singh, general manager Suresh Joseph, and senior officers of the Port Trust were present at the meeting.
