evergreenmarine.jpgEvergreen and China Shipping have further united their efforts by merging their two transpacific services today September 30 into a single loop, joining Evergreen's UAM pendulum string and CSCL's ANW 1 into a single Asia-Pacific Northwest (PNW) service. First calls from Ningbo will depend on each shipping line's different commercial priorities with CSCL ships calling at Seattle first before going on to Tacoma while Evergreen vessels will first dock at Tacoma before docking at Seattle.
The loop will be served by six vessels in the 5,500 TEU class with the two lines providing three each, which is expected to reduce weekly capacity to 3,200 TEU, said Paris-based AXS Alphaliner.
It is the second joint effort by the two carriers. Since June they co-operate on two services on Asia-Europe and Asia-Mexico-US east coast routes and share slots on two Asia-US west coast services.
