cargo13_thumb.jpgDrydocks World - Southeast Asia Pte. Limited ("DDWDDW-SEA") is proud to announce the official opening of its Training Centre in Batam, with facilities to develop the technical skills of the local workforce.
Commenting on the occasion, Mr Mark Biggs, Managing Director of DDWDDW-SEA, said, "The training centre is an integral part of our continuing commitment to the Batam shipping industry, and a strategic move to increase the ratio of direct employees against our existing subcontractors. This Training Centre is perfectly aligned with our key policy of attracting and retaining the best people available."
The centre is built with the capacity to train up to 200 people with specific programs designed to impart basic skills and enhance workmanship in all disciplines associated with ship/offshore building, repair or conversion. The centre is located between the Drydocks World Graha and Pertama yards and will provide training services to all three of Drydocks World's shipyards on Batam Island, Indonesia. Ultimately, the centre will also be a resource for third-party training on a commercial basis.
The opening ceremony was graced by Mr H. Ismeth Abdullah, the Governor of Riau Province, as the Guest of Honour, who signed the Official Opening Plaque to mark the opening of the training centre.
