port_ying_thumb.jpgA law to reduce the number of free storage days for containers at Port Klang to three days from five has been postponed once again, as imports and exports slumped amid the global economic slowdown, the Business Times reported. The Port Klang Authority (PKA), the regulator of Northport and Westports, has set January 1 2010 as the new implementation date.
The plan was first mooted in 2002.
PKA said after consultation with the two terminal operators at Port Klang and port users, it has decided to further postpone the implementation of the three-day free storage period policy.
