xinjiang_map_thumb.jpgIt is reported that currently, the mechanization rate of China's major coal-producing zones has reached 90.57%, and China's raw coal production stays at 62.2 million tonnes increasing by 24%YoY. Xinjiang autonomous region is expected to produce over 80 million tonnes of coal in 2009 and 150 million tonnes in 2010. According to sources from coal industry administration bureau of Xinjiang, Xinjiang has in recent years earnestly pushed forward the upgrade and optimization of industrial structure, and has closed coal mines with less than 30,000 tonnes per year capacities. There are 298 coal mines in Xinjiang now, compared with the number of 1,798 in 1998.
