The US Coast Guard have issued a notice stating that with the exception of certain named ports, from the 5th of December 2007 it is imposing conditions of entry on vessels arriving in the United States after having called in Cameroon during the five previous port calls. Such vessels must:   have implemented Security Level 2 while in the Cameroon port;   have ensured that each access point to the vessel was guarded and that the guards had total visibility of the exterior of the vessel while in the Cameroon port;   have attempted to execute a Declaration of Security with the Cameroon port facility;   have logged all security actions undertaken in Cameroon;   report the actions taken to the cognizant USCG Captain of the Port prior to arrival in US waters; and   ensure that each access point to the ship is guarded by armed private security guards while in US ports and that the guards have total visibility of the exterior of the ship. The conditions of entry do not apply to calls made in the following Cameroon ports: the Ebome Marine Terminal,□the Quai GETMA (LAMNALCO Base) facility, and the Société Nationale de Raffinage (SONARA) terminal.  This requirement has been imposed because the Coast Guard have determined that effective anti-terrorism measures have not been undertaken in Cameroon, other than in the excepted ports.
