Seatrade, the global maritime publisher and events organiser, has expanded its Asia Representative office in Singapore. The new office will provide close contact with Seatrade's regional clients and partners.Seatrade said this reinforces its commitment to the Asia region and its pivotal significance in the world's maritime arena.Announcing the expansion, Seatrade's global sales director, Andrew Callaghan, said: 'Seatrade is fully committed to the further development of its products throughout Asia. Singapore is our preferred choice for regional headquarters and we look forward to playing our part in the continued growth of Singapore's increasing global maritime status.'David Chin, executive director of Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF), said: 'The SMF is pleased to welcome Seatrade's extended presence into the Singapore maritime community. The inaugural collaboration between Seatrade and the SMF, to develop and stage SEA ASIA 2007, was an overwhelming success.'With Seatrade's presence, this will create more synergy for us to work together to make SEA ASIA 2009, and subsequent shows, the iconic maritime event in Singapore. SEA ASIA will continue to manifest and reinforce Singapore's position as an international maritime centre.'SEA ASIA, the iconic new maritime event for the region, based in Singapore, returns April 21-23, 2009 after a spectacular inaugural show, with more than 7,000 participants, in April this year.The office will be helmed initially by Mr Callaghan and Toby Ingram (marketing and communications, Asia and Middle East) who previously managed the company's office in the SMF.Also joining them on a shared basis is Winnie Low, director, Overseas Media Representation (OMR) and Seatrade office manager Jennifer Khoo.
